Flick's Offensive Dilemma Before the Stamford Bridge Clash
Monday 24-11-2025
German coach Hans Flick, the manager of FC Barcelona, faces a positive attacking dilemma ahead of the match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, as all the forward players are now available, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport."

The coach will have to choose only three players out of five prominent candidates: Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Marcus Rashford, and Raphinha, while the chances of Roni Bardhi or any player from the reserve team seem very slim given the readiness of the main players.

According to Sport newspaper, Lamine Yamal is the only confirmed choice in the lineup, as he is the standout star in the attack and significantly ahead of his direct competitor, Roni Bardhi. He also enters the match with extra motivation, as it will be his first official game against an English team and his first visit to Stamford Bridge, following his recent impressive performance with two assists against Athletic Bilbao.

As for the center forward position, there is strong competition between Lewandowski, the experienced player and the third-highest scorer in Champions League history, and Ferran Torres, who is enjoying a great moment after scoring a brace against Athletic Bilbao and reaching 9 goals this season, just one goal behind Lewandowski.

The newspaper points out that the competition for the left-wing position is no less challenging, with Marcus Rashford, who has recovered from the flu that kept him out of the last match, competing against Raphinha, who has recently returned from injury. Despite not being fully fit, the Brazilian enjoys great confidence from Flick due to his impressive stats last season, during which he contributed to 57 goals.

The newspaper emphasizes that Flick, for the first time this season, has a complete attacking lineup that offers him multiple options, making the decision of selecting the starting trio one of the biggest challenges ahead of the highly anticipated match against Chelsea in the Champions League.
