The Race to Sign Nottingham Forest Defender Heats Up Among Europe's Top Clubs
Sunday 23-11-2025
Interest in Brazilian defender Morello, the 23-year-old Nottingham Forest star, has been intensifying, with clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Barcelona expressing their desire to sign him, according to the website "CaughtOffside."

Chelsea has been monitoring Morello since last summer, with head coach Enzo Marisca identifying him as a primary target to strengthen the defense, especially due to his ability to play with the ball and initiate attacks from deep positions, which aligns with the team's possession-based style.

Morello has played 9 matches this season in the English Premier League with Forest, and he has managed to attract attention despite the team's difficulties.

Arsenal views Morello as a player capable of strengthening the defensive midfield and making an immediate impact, serving as a strong addition alongside William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães.

As for Barcelona, Morello is considered a long-term investment within the club's plans to rebuild its defense, which is struggling with aging players and frequent injuries, especially given the inconsistent performance of some key defenders.

Despite the significant interest, the deal may face financial challenges, as Nottingham Forest values Morello between 80 and 90 million euros. However, the club is expected to consider serious offers if they come close to the asking price, especially after strengthening its negotiating position by rejecting offers last summer.
