Abdel Raouf Decides to Keep Awad as Zamalek's Goalkeeper Against ZESCO
Ahmed Abdel Raouf, the head coach of Zamalek Club, has decided to field goalkeeper Mohamed Awad in the starting lineup during the upcoming match against ZESCO United of Zambia, scheduled for next Sunday at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the first round of Group D matches in the CAF Confederation Cup.
According to a report by Al-Ahram newspaper, Abdel Raouf refuses to rotate goalkeepers at this time, preferring to rely continuously on Awad following his outstanding performance in the Egyptian Super Cup.
Awad had participated in the matches against Pyramids and Al Ahly during the Egyptian Super Cup in the UAE, benefiting from the injury of the main goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi, who had been the team's first-choice goalkeeper since the start of the season.
Zamalek is placed in Group D alongside Al Masry Port Said, South African club Kaizer Chiefs, and ZESCO United of Zambia, in what is considered one of the strongest groups this season.
