Oyarzabal: We Should Have Won, and My Goal is to Help the National Team
Monday 17-11-2025
Spanish national team star Mikel Oyarzabal appeared in press statements after the 4-0 victory over Georgia in the fifth round of the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, at the Boris Paichadze Stadium.

He said after the match: "I will try to help the team to move forward."

Regarding his two goals, one from a penalty and the other from a header: "That's how things happened. The goalkeeper made a great save on one. You always have to try to be present."

About qualifying for the World Cup: "Things would have to go very badly for us to lose the chance to qualify, but we have to wait. Abroad, they thought today's match was easy, and we had to win."

He concluded: "We focus on daily work. We know how difficult it is to be here and to take advantage of playing opportunities. If individual success comes, that’s good... but our main focus is the team. Things went well on all levels."
