Hausen included in Spain's squad for international break

Luis de la Fuente, the head coach of Spain, has announced the first squad for "La Roja" following the national team's World Cup triumph, in preparation for the upcoming international break, which will mark the start of Spain's journey in the UEFA Nations League.

The squad has seen some changes compared to the World Cup group, with four new names included, one player in each line, while maintaining the core structure of the team with limited adjustments.

In goal, De la Fuente had to adjust his squad due to the injury suffered by Juan García to his knee, opening the opportunity for Josep Martínez, the Inter Milan goalkeeper, who surpassed Leo Román in the race to join the national team.

Fermín López has made a return to the Spain squad after being a key player before an injury kept him out of the national team. He comes back following a strong start to the season with his club, while his call-up comes at the expense of Gavi.

In defense, Dani Houseman, a defender for Real Madrid, has earned another opportunity with the national team after delivering impressive performances with his club under José Mourinho, also benefiting from his ability to play in multiple positions.

In the forward line, Borja Iglesias is absent due to physical issues that have prevented him from performing at his best, and Roberto Fernández, the Espanyol striker, has been called up to get his chance with the senior national team.

This list comes in preparation for a long international break, during which Spain will play four matches in the UEFA Nations League over three weeks.

Spain will begin their campaign against England on Saturday, September 26 in London, then face Croatia on Tuesday, September 29 in Seville, before meeting the Czech Republic on Saturday, October 3 in Oviedo, and will conclude the break with another match against Croatia on Tuesday, October 6 in Split.
