Saturday 08-11-2025
Danish coach Jess Thorup of Al Ahly appeared to discuss the anticipated match against Zamalek in the Egyptian Super Cup final, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday. He also revealed the status of Slovenian player Nik Gredičar after he was substituted due to an injury during the semi-final against Ceramica.

Al Ahly Club will face its traditional rival Zamalek in the final of the Egyptian Super Cup tomorrow, Sunday, at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.

In his statements at the pre-match press conference, Torb said: "I am well aware of the importance of the match against Zamalek for Al Ahly fans. We are not here just to participate in the Super Cup, but we are strongly striving to win the title."

Regarding Gradychar's situation: "He performed well against Ceramica Cleopatra, and I preferred to substitute him to preserve him, not because of an injury. He is 100% ready for the match against Zamalek."

Turb confirmed that striker Mohamed Sherif is ready to be included in the squad for the Egyptian Super Cup final against Zamalek after fully recovering from his injury.

He continued: "Imam Ashour is training well with the team, and I am continuously monitoring his condition. He is getting closer to returning after a 40-day absence."

Torop added: "As for Ahmed Sayed Zizo facing his former team Zamalek, transfers are a part of football, and he needs to focus completely on winning the match and claiming the Egyptian Super Cup title. The mentality is extremely important for the players."
