Josep Stanisic, the right-back for Bayern Munich, sparked widespread controversy following his comments after the injury of Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi, a player for Paris Saint-Germain, during the match between the two teams on Tuesday evening in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League.

The match witnessed a painful moment when Hakimi suffered a strong tackle from Colombian Luis Diaz during stoppage time of the first half, falling down due to an injury to his left ankle and leaving the field in tears. He was later seen leaving the Parc des Princes using crutches.

The referee showed the red card directly to Diaz after the violent tackle.

In statements reported by Foot Mercato, Stanisic smiled at the media in the mixed zone and said: "Did Luis Diaz apologize to the team after his tackle? No, he didn't... We thanked him (laughs). I'm just joking, he was as happy with the win as all of us."

The Bayern defender added that his teammate Diaz needs to be calmer and more intelligent in such situations, so he doesn't put himself and the team at risk in the future, adding: "He knows he needs to have better control over his emotions during matches."

Paris Saint-Germain supporters are eagerly awaiting the final medical report regarding Achraf Hakimi's injury, amid concerns that he may be sidelined for several weeks. This could pose a significant setback for both the Parisian club and the Moroccan national team ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
