CAF has classified the clubs into four levels based on their results over the last five seasons in continental competitions, with the classification as follows:

Level Two: Simba (Tanzania) – Pyramids (Egypt) – Al Hilal (Sudan) – Young Africans (Tanzania)
Level Three: Petro de Luanda (Angola) – FAR Rabat (Morocco) – CR Belouizdad (Algeria) – Rivers United (Nigeria)
Level Four: Kabylie (Algeria) – Stade Malien – Lupopo (Congo) – Power Dynamos (Zambia)
CAF confirmed that the draw will be conducted in a balanced manner, with one team from each level placed in the same group to ensure equal opportunities and to avoid direct encounters between clubs from the same country.
