Catalonia Radio reported that FC Barcelona is in very advanced negotiations with Spanish defender Eric Garcia, whose contract with the club expires at the end of the current season.

According to the source, the Catalan club is finalizing the renewal of the Spanish defender's contract until the summer of 2030, as the club aims to resolve the renewal issue as soon as possible after the impressive performance the player has shown this season.

The Spanish defender has become a key element in the defense this season following the departure of Inigo Martinez, having gained the trust of coach Hans Flick due to his consistent level and noticeable development both physically and tactically.

Garcia has played 13 matches in all competitions this season and scored one goal.
