Media figure Khaled Al-Ghandour revealed that the financial crisis in Zamalek is the reason for the delay in renewing Ahmed Hamdi's contract.

Al-Ghandour said during television statements: "Ahmed Hamdi is only waiting for the board of directors to move to start official negotiations and communicate with him to finalize all details related to the new contract."

He added: "There is a mutual desire between the football management of Zamalek and player Ahmed Hamdi to renew the contract during the current period, especially since Hamdi's contract ends at the end of the current season."

He continued: "The opening of any negotiations with the player has been postponed for the time being, especially in light of the significant financial crisis the club is experiencing."
