Alienation and Silence in Zamalek… A Moroccan Player Living His Toughest Days
Tuesday 14-10-2025
Moroccan international Abdelhamid Maali, player of Zamalek, is experiencing a difficult period both psychologically and in terms of living conditions, due to his feelings of alienation and being away from his family, amidst the club management's delay in implementing the terms of his contract.

According to statements by Egyptian media figure Khaled El-Ghandour on the program Stadium Al-Mohar, the former player of Ittihad Tangier is suffering from a critical psychological state, as he has been unable to bring his mother and cousin to Cairo, despite his contract with Zamalek stipulating that the club would cover their travel tickets and their stay with him.

El-Ghandour added, according to reports from Egyptian newspapers, that the player is facing living difficulties related to housing and food, and that the team's goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi has taken the initiative to support him financially and morally, having hosted him several times in his home and provided him assistance during the crisis.

The same source indicated that the financial crisis that Zamalek is experiencing has affected its commitments to its new players, which has increased Maali's suffering, leading him to consider returning to Morocco due to his feelings of loneliness and the absence of psychological support within the team.

Reports also revealed that the Zamalek management has begun its efforts to pay the dues owed to Ittihad Tangier related to the player's transfer deal, in a move aimed at avoiding a potential complaint before the FIFA.

Abdelhamid Maali's crisis remains a reflection of the complicated situation that Zamalek has been living recently, amidst increasing financial pressures and the necessity of maintaining the psychological stability of its players before the resumption of the Egyptian Premier League competitions.
