Guardiola: Here Lies Our Problem, and It’s an Honor to Stand Next to Wenger and Ferguson
Sunday 05-10-2025
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola appeared in press statements after the 1-0 victory over Brentford in the seventh round of the Premier League.

The coach said: "Your message to Haaland? Keep going, keep playing. Even if you are tired, you must continue...".

He added: "We need the rest of the players to score goals because we create opportunities; the wingers need to score more, they should finish better in one-on-one situations or even one against two. They had to finish the attacks better, but step by step we will do that."

He continued: "The first half was great, we performed well; we were close to our best levels in many aspects, but the problem lies in not scoring goals from the chances we had."

Regarding the international break: "We hope the players return in good condition."

He concluded: "We have won a lot; you can't be here if you haven't won. It is an honor for me to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger (reaching 250 wins in the Premier League). I will invite them to dinner, and we will sit at the same table. Thanks to the club, the players, and all the staff. Ten seasons and 250 wins is a big number; I didn't know, but it is indeed great."
