The coach of Al-Zawraa team, Abdul Ghani Shahid, confirmed his team's full readiness to face the Iraqi football classic against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, scheduled to be held tomorrow evening, Sunday, at the International City Stadium, as part of the fourth round of the Iraqi Stars League for the 2025-2026 season.

Shahid said at the press conference preceding the match: "The team is performing well in both Asian and local matches, and despite the loss against Al-Nassr from Saudi Arabia in the AFC Champions League 2, we came away with several positive points that we will work to enhance in the upcoming phase."

He added: "We have worked over the past few days to correct the mistakes that accompanied the match against Al-Nassr, and to enhance the positive aspects that emerged in that match, because we believe that facing Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya is completely different in terms of character, circumstances, and crowd pressure."

Shahid indicated by saying: "We respect the opposing team a lot, as Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya is a big team with high-level players, but on the other hand, we have the ability to face the pressure of big matches, and we have full confidence in our players to deliver the required performance and achieve a positive result."

He continued with confidence: "The team is ready to present a match worthy of the name Al-Zawraa and to achieve victory in front of our loyal fans, whom we know well how much they are looking forward to this match, and we will work to make them happy through our performance and the result."

Shahid concluded his speech by saying: "We have outstanding options of local and professional players capable of making the technical differences, and every player in the team knows exactly the size of the responsibility placed on their shoulders. Our goal is to come back strongly in the local league and compete on all fronts, and this classic will be an important station on our way to achieving that."
