After the conclusion of the Iraq Stars League for the 2025/2026 season and the coronation of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya with the title, the final picture of the representatives of Iraqi football in continental and Gulf championships for the next season became clear. The final league standings outlined the features of international participation and brought Iraq back to the Asian forefront with four clubs.

Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya will carry Iraq's flag in the most important tournament, the AFC Champions League for the elite, as the league champion and titleholder. The Falcons secured a direct spot in the new edition of the championship after topping the standings with 89 points, returning to compete with the continent's giants after a strong local season combining the strongest attack and defense.

Al-Shorta, the league runner-up, will qualify for the AFC Champions League 2. The second edition of the continental championship will witness the presence of the Green Harp after an impressive offensive season in which the team scored 71 goals, returning to continental participation with a new spirit and ambition to surpass the early stages and achieve better results than in past seasons.

The Gulf Champions League for clubs witnessed significant expansion after increasing the number of participants from 8 to 16 teams, and this decision granted Iraq two additional spots.

Erbil benefited from securing third place in the league to guarantee qualification for the Gulf championship, and the Yellow team will return to represent Iraq in a competition gathering Gulf clubs after an absence.

Al-Zawraa accompanied them to the same championship after finishing the league in fourth place, allowing the White team to be present in a Gulf entitlement that provides the opportunity for direct engagement with regional clubs and to reclaim its external status.
