Ferreira: We Did Not Show Up as Required and El Gouna Deserves the Draw
Tuesday 23-09-2025
Yannick Ferreira, the coach of Zamalek, stated that his team did not show up as required against El Gouna in today's match.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, which took place on Tuesday evening as part of the eighth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Ferreira added in the press conference after the match: "In the second half, we allowed the opponent to come back into the match, and we did not show up as required. What happened was supposed to happen because El Gouna deserves the draw in today's match."

He continued: "Mohamed Shahat is still injured for weeks, and there is no truth to what is being circulated about focusing on the summit match during the El Gouna match."

He added: "When we win, we are all responsible, and when we lose or draw, we are all also responsible for the result."

Ferreira added: "Ahmed Hamdy participated instead of Donja after the latter's injury, because Ahmed Rabi suffered an injury six weeks ago, and it was difficult for him to participate in today's match after recently returning to training, while Ahmed Hamdy has been training with the team since the beginning of the preparation period."

He concluded: "So far, after any moment of failure we have faced, the team has come back stronger. When we lost to Wadi Degla, we returned well afterwards, and after every loss of points, we work to gather points to come back stronger."
