After drawing with Al-Student in the second round of the Iraqi Stars League, Al-Zawraa coach Abdul Ghani Shahd expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance despite missing the victory in an exciting match that saw a large attendance.

He added: "We dominated the match and missed many clear chances to score, which confirms that we were the better side technically, but football is only decided by the final result."

He said: "Those who waste such a large number of chances against a team of Al-Student's caliber may concede counter goals, and this requires us to focus more in the upcoming matches to avoid such mistakes."

He added: "Many players were rested due to fatigue and returning from the late trip to India, so it was natural to see some decline in fitness levels at certain periods, but overall the team performed well."

He continued: "The start of the league is always difficult and sees intense competition among teams, and Al-Student put on a strong match, but we were the better side in terms of performance and deserved the victory."

Shahd concluded his remarks by saying: "We have great confidence in our players and rely on them to deliver better performances and achieve victories in the upcoming rounds. The goal now is to correct past mistakes and focus on developing the collective performance to continue competing for the top of the league."
