Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta appeared in press statements after the 1-1 draw against Manchester City in the fifth round of the Premier League.

The coach said in his remarks: "At least we deserved a point. I am very proud of my players, the way they played, and their dominance in most aspects of the match. But I am very frustrated not to win."

Regarding Manchester City's goal: "We had the situation, five against two, and a lot of chaos around the ball, and in a split second, Haaland took off and they exploited the space in a wonderful way, and that is the quality they have. We are in the final third and sending in a cross, and there are a lot of things that can happen, but that is the quality of City."

On Manchester City's chances: "One came from a corner, another from a counter-attack, and the last one from an individual error. That’s all. To keep City at that level only, this deserves praise for the players."

He continued: "I think we played better than last year when we beat them. We played much better."

On Martinelli, who came on as a substitute and scored the equalizer: "I am very happy, this is why they are here. Eze (Eberechi Eze) as well, with the ball he passed to Martinelli, the timing of the run and the quality of the final touch were amazing."

On the impact of the substitutes: "Everyone will participate. All players will get their chance. We will need all of them at this level, and there is no doubt this is extremely important."

He concluded: "A 5-point gap from Liverpool? We cannot control that. They are winning every match, and it will be very difficult. But if we continue to play at this level, as we did against Manchester City, we will be fine."
