Al-Zawraa Club coach Abdul Ghani Shahid held a special press conference regarding his team's upcoming match against Al-Talaba, which will take place tomorrow evening, Sunday, at Al-Zawraa Stadium as part of the second round of the Iraqi Stars League.

Shahid confirmed that the recent victory achieved by Al-Zawraa over Goa (2-0) in the AFC Champions League 2 provided the team with a significant morale boost before the derby match, emphasizing that the players are motivated to deliver a strong performance against Al-Talaba and secure a second consecutive win.

He added: "We have worked in the past few days to correct some mistakes that appeared in previous matches, and our main goal is to come away with the three points. We have outstanding local and foreign players capable of making a difference and having the desired impact."

The Al-Zawraa coach revealed that he submitted an official request to the Football Association to postpone the match by one day due to the delay in the team's return from India, but it was met with rejection, describing it as a "strange situation" that did not take into account the circumstances of Iraqi clubs' external participation.

Shahid concluded his statements by affirming that Al-Zawraa Stadium will be "difficult for all local and Asian teams," attributing this to the large fan base that supports the team and serves as its most significant weapon in upcoming matches.
