Manchester City star Phil Foden appeared in press statements after the 3-0 victory over Manchester United in the fourth round of the Premier League.

He began his remarks about the death of English boxer Ricky Hatton: "I definitely had an extra motivation before the match. We played for Ricky Hatton and his family and for everyone who is suffering right now. The team gave everything it had. It wasn't a pretty match, but it was all for him."

Regarding scoring goals and dealing with external criticism, Foden said: "There was a lot of talk. It's impossible not to hear what's being said outside. Most of what was said was negative, but that's the nature of the world when you play at the highest levels."

He emphasized: "When you win the Player of the Season award, expectations rise on you, and I understand that. It's about how you read those comments, react to them in the best possible way, and get back to my true level."

He concluded his remarks about Haaland: "He delivered a complete performance; the way he held onto the ball when we were struggling was amazing. He did everything: defending, attacking, moving into space, and taking on difficult roles. He put in a tremendous effort, and we need more performances like that."
