La Liga has announced that Ivorian Nicolas Pepe, winger for Villarreal, has been awarded the Best Player of the Month for August, following his remarkable performance at the start of the new 2025/2026 season.

The 30-year-old Pepe managed to score two goals and provide one assist in the first three matches of the league, directly contributing to Villarreal's two victories and one draw, confirming his position as one of the key pillars in the Yellow Submarine's attack.

The Ivorian winger has successfully regained his high level with Villarreal, after an unstable period with Arsenal, which included loan spells at Nice in France and Trabzonspor in Turkey. He had a good season last year, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists in 28 matches.

La Liga's statement noted that the award is given in recognition of the outstanding level Pepe displayed during August, which made him one of the key factors for Villarreal's successful start to the season.
