Laporta: We will return to Camp Nou as soon as possible
Thursday 11-09-2025
The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, confirmed his optimism about the first team's return to play at Spotify Camp Nou, during his participation in the traditional annual event of presenting flowers to the Rafael Casanova monument on the occasion of Catalonia's National Day.

The Barcelona delegation participated in the event this morning, being one of the first delegations present, led by Laporta, accompanied by the Vice President for Institutional Affairs Elena Fort, the Sports Vice President Rafa Yuste, along with some athletes from various sections of the club, such as Joan Garcia from the football team and Joel Para from the basketball team.

Laporta stated in his remarks: "We will return to Camp Nou as soon as possible, we are very excited to return."

He added: "Although our first home match in La Liga against Valencia will be held at Johan Cruyff Stadium, we are optimistic about the possibility of returning to Camp Nou soon."

So far, doubts remain about Camp Nou's readiness for the match against Getafe on September 21, while the Luis Companys Stadium has become available for the team’s use, but the match against Real Sociedad will not be held there due to its overlap with the closing show of the La Mercè Festival, making the surrounding area unsuitable for hosting the match.

Despite the lack of an official announcement, expectations within the club suggest that the match against Real Sociedad may take place at Spotify Camp Nou.
