Barcelona Approaches Reopening Camp Nou Against Real Sociedad
Wednesday 10-09-2025
It has been confirmed that FC Barcelona will play their next match against Getafe at Johan Cruyff Stadium, following the decision to hold the Valencia match at the same venue due to ongoing preparations at Camp Nou.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," the club is working to prepare Camp Nou to host the match against Real Sociedad scheduled for September 28, as it is seen as a test for the stadium's approval by UEFA before returning to the Champions League.

Amid pressure from Paris Saint-Germain to hold the European match at Camp Nou, Barcelona continues to race against time to complete the infrastructure works, including the technical preparations for video technology and the fiber optic network.

A delegation from La Liga conducted a two-hour inspection visit to Johan Cruyff Stadium this morning to verify its readiness from all technical and organizational aspects. At the same time, the club held a meeting with the Barcelona municipality before announcing the Valencia match at the same stadium, without altering the plan.

The club's vice president, Elena Fort, confirmed that Camp Nou may not be ready before the end of the month, which increases the likelihood of temporarily continuing to play at Johan, which has a capacity of only 6,000 spectators.

The club continues its logistical and organizational preparations to host the Getafe match at Johan, while the long-awaited return to Camp Nou depends on the speed of completing the required technical works and the approval of the organizing bodies.
