New Offer from Al-Ittihad to Sign Inácio from Sporting Lisbon

Tuesday 09-09-2025
The Portuguese newspaper Abola clarified that Sporting Lisbon has reiterated its refusal to part with its standout defender Gonçalo Inácio, following the closure of the summer transfer market.

The newspaper confirmed that Al-Ittihad had submitted an official offer valued at 40 million euros, along with an additional 5 million euros in incentives related to the player's performance and participation level.

However, Sporting's management immediately rejected the proposal, insisting on the buyout clause included in Inácio's contract, which is valued at 60 million euros, considering it the only way to complete the deal.

Portuguese sources indicated that Al-Ittihad still views Inácio as the ideal defensive option, hence they are studying the possibility of making a new offer close to the buyout clause to convince the Portuguese club's management.

Reports add that Sporting officials are sticking to their position due to the player's importance in the team's formation, especially with the coach relying on him as a key player in local and continental tournaments.

According to follow-ups, the coming days may witness a new move from Al-Ittihad, in an attempt to reopen negotiations and reach an agreement that satisfies all parties before the winter transfers.
