The Saudi Union team is preparing to play its first match in the Roshen League against Al-Akhidood next Saturday in Najran, amidst the absence of seven players all at once due to their international commitments with their national teams.

The newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" revealed that French coach Laurent Blanc will have to face the international break without the services of Algerian player Houssam Aouar, along with Saudi players Osama Al-Marmash, Saad Al-Mousa, Mohannad Al-Shanqeeti, Abdul Rahman Al-Aboud, and Saleh Al-Shehri, in addition to goalkeeper Hamid Al-Shanqeeti who has joined the U-20 youth national team.

The team held its main training session on Thursday evening at the club's headquarters, as part of the final preparations for the match against Al-Akhidood, striving for a strong start in its journey to defend the title it won last season in the Professional League.

It is worth mentioning that the Union opened its current season with a loss against Al-Nassr, with a score of two goals to one in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup, which took place in Hong Kong earlier this month.

The club has strengthened its squad during the summer transfer window by signing the trio Mohamed Barnawi, Mohamed Al-Absi, and Ahmed Al-Jlaydan, as part of its plan to enhance the team for competition in various tournaments.
