The Iraqi Football Association's decision to allow clubs participating in external tournaments to add a seventh foreign player has resonated widely within the clubs, especially with their preparations for the new season of the Iraqi Premier League.

In this context, the management of Al-Zawraa Club has approached the agent of former French international striker Wissam Ben Yedder to discuss the possibility of signing him to the "Nawaris" for the upcoming season. The player has an impressive football career, having previously represented major clubs in Europe such as Sevilla in Spain, and Monaco and Toulouse in France, with his last stint being with Sepahan Isfahan in Iran.

According to what has been circulated, the player's agent was the one who initiated contact with the management of Al-Zawraa Club, which did not reject the idea but preferred to postpone the decision until the association officially adopts the decision regarding the addition of the seventh professional.
