Shobeir Attacks Critics of His Son's Performance in the Modern Sport Match
Media figure Ahmed Shobeir attacked critics of his son Mustafa, the goalkeeper for Al Ahly, following the Modern Sport match.
Mustafa Shobeir participated in the Modern Sport match in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Shobeir said in radio statements: "It's nice for me to take on an issue and bring analysts; it's good to point out and analyze mistakes. What's strange is that a matter without significance takes 3-4 days, that's a bit odd."
He added: "It's strange that a player played and another sat on the bench, that's the coach's right, or am I wrong? And by the way, I'm speaking as a goalkeeper; the goalkeeper isn't holding a remote control that you can play with your way."
He continued: "There are many analysts and former coaches who come out and say very strange things, like 'he should have hit with his right to hit the cross in the left, and when he hits the cross, it supports the inner and the inner pushes down.' You don't understand anything, do you?"
He mentioned: "Some analysts specifically talk about goalkeeping, saying 'the right knee was bent so the left hand didn't push gently or with enough force to create self-propulsion.' Come on, life isn't that hard, and I'm not moving anyone with a remote control, you know?"
He continued: "Some people know how to say heavy and difficult things, while others are easy and smooth. I like Captain Ahmed Nagy; he analyzes things simply, calmly, and steadily. Also, Essam El-Hadary, I often disagree with El-Hadary, but his experiences and history explain the situation well."
He concluded: "In general, I hope not everyone in front of the camera or microphone acts like an analysis expert; things should be a bit easier than that."
