The Union club is planning to sign a foreign goalkeeper from the youth category to compensate for the absence of Serbian Predrag Rajkovic, who has been away from participation since last season due to injury.

According to informed sources, the Union management has identified Mexican Alex Padilla, the goalkeeper of Athletic Bilbao in Spain, as one of the key targets to be signed during the current summer transfer window, to be registered as an underage player.

The management is considering Rajkovic's future due to his long absence and the team's loss of his services in important matches, which has prompted French coach Laurent Blanc to search for a ready replacement for the new season.

Padilla is 21 years old and is under contract with Athletic Bilbao until June 2029, with a market value estimated at around 3 million euros according to the 'Transfer Market' website.

The Union is currently preparing to face Al-Nassr in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong on August 19, with the winner set to meet the victor of the match between Al-Ahli and Al-Qadisiyah on the 23rd of the same month.
