Ferreira: I Don't Feel Concerned About Friendly Match Results and Fans Shouldn't Worry
Yannick Ferreira, the coach of Zamalek, spoke about the upcoming match against Ceramica Cleopatra in the league.
Zamalek will face Ceramica on Friday in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Ferreira said in the press conference: "We haven't watched any matches of Ceramica because we are still at the beginning of the season, but I have followed some of the competitor's matches from last season, and I learned a lot about Ceramica, and we will try to work well to make a strong start in the league."
He continued: "I wish the preparation period had been longer, but in the end, the team received the same time that all clubs had to prepare for the new season, and the work increases with the passing days, and the ideas of the coaching staff are being implemented."
He added: "I don't feel concerned about the results of the friendly matches, and the fans shouldn't worry because we are trying to implement many ideas, and this takes time. We cannot expect to change everything in a short period. I promise that we will fight and strive for victory in every match the team plays, and we are working to learn from mistakes to avoid negatives in performance."
Regarding the new signings, he said: "It is still early to judge the new signings. We need to see them in more situations. For me, I do not evaluate players in the media; the evaluation is between me and the players and management. After a few months, everyone will see how much the club benefits from the new signings."
He continued: "We have analyzed Ceramica's matches from last season, and I keep the technical aspect to myself. They certainly have different styles of play, and it is impossible to start the last season with the team being 100% ready. We will try over time to reach technical and physical perfection, and to reach this point, we need more time. However, I do not make excuses, and I do not ask the fans not to judge the team except after a long period. Over time, we will reach our goal, and I and the players will fight to achieve our objectives."
Ferreira sent a message to Zamalek fans, saying: "I promise you that we will fight every day for victory. I have heard a lot about the club's fans, and I can't wait to see them. I know that there will be many matches that will not just be 11 players against 11 players because there will be around 20,000 supporters with the team in every match."
He concluded his talk: "We know what is required from the team, and the fans know what is required of them in terms of support and assistance. I learned that the fans were a reason for the team winning the Egypt Cup last season."
