Aston Villa is aiming to sign Belgian striker Louis Openda, a player from RB Leipzig, during the ongoing summer transfer window, in preparation for the start of the 2025/2026 season.

According to journalist "Sasha Tavolieri", who specializes in transfer news, Openda is one of the options being considered by Aston Villa, given that there have been previous communications between the two parties for several months.

This move by the English club comes in anticipation of the potential departure of Ollie Watkins, the team's striker, who is a possible target for Manchester United this summer.

Openda, who is 25 years old, joined RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 from French club Lens for around 40 million euros, and has since participated in 90 matches across all competitions, scoring 41 goals and providing 18 assists. He has also played 27 international matches for the Belgium national team, scoring 3 goals.
