Samuel Ricci: Allegri Helps Me a Lot, and Leão Doesn't Realize His Talent
Samuel Ricci, the midfielder of the Italian team AC Milan who recently joined the Rossoneri, spoke about his new experience at the club, his relationship with his teammates and coach Massimiliano Allegri, as well as his aspirations with the team for the upcoming season.
Ricci said: "I usually manage to integrate quickly, and I believe that I am in a good position thanks to the club, the people working at Milan, and the locker room that has helped me a lot."
Regarding his relationship with coach Allegri, he said: "I have a good rapport with Allegri; we understand each other. He asks us as midfielders to provide the team with technical solidity, and we have to limit internal passes as much as possible and play quickly forward because we know the quality and speed of our wingers."
On his playing style, he added: "My main approach is to play football, but I know well that this role requires defensive work and good positioning, and I am working on developing this aspect thanks to the coach who corrects my positioning during training."
About his teammate Rafael Leão, he said: "I prefer that Leão is my teammate; we know his capabilities. He is a player who can make a difference, and perhaps he doesn't even realize how strong he is and the talent he possesses. If he puts himself at the service of the team, he will be an exceptional added value."
On playing alongside Loftus-Cheek and Fofana, he said: "Being with Loftus and Fofana makes things easier; players like them should be part of a team aspiring to the top. Both are of high caliber, complementary, and can do almost everything."
Regarding the team's ambitions, he stated: "Returning to the Champions League is not just a priority, but also what Milan deserves. We need to continue to progress step by step, focus on training, and listen to the coach. The path is correct, but we shouldn't rush things."
On the team's goal, he said: "I think everyone wants to hear the Champions League anthem again at San Siro, not just me, and that's why we continue to work to bring Milan back to the top."
