The management of Al-Karkh Sports Club has officially announced its contract with Syrian coach Ayman Al-Hakim to lead the first team in the upcoming 2025-2026 football season, succeeding the previous coaching staff, in a step that is considered a continuation of the club's efforts to present a better performance in the next season.

Ayman Al-Hakim is one of the most prominent Arab coaches in recent years, boasting a rich career filled with experiences in Syrian and Arab football, having previously led the Syrian national team in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, achieving remarkable results that almost led them to the World Cup.

He has also had several successful coaching experiences both inside and outside Syria, the latest being his tenure with Al-Qasim Club in Iraq last season, where he delivered impressive performances with the team and achieved results that exceeded expectations, earning him respect from Iraqi league fans and local followers.

The management of Al-Karkh Club clarified in an official statement that the contract with Al-Hakim came after a thorough study of his coaching career and his ability to work with the available resources and build a young team that possesses character and identity on the field.

The management confirmed that Al-Hakim will take over the role starting next week, where he will begin overseeing the team's training in preparation for an internal training camp.

For his part, the Syrian coach expressed his happiness at signing with a well-known club like Al-Karkh, praising the club's experience in relying on young talents and producing significant names for Iraqi football. Al-Hakim stated in a press statement following the signing:

“I am happy to take on a new challenge with Al-Karkh Club, which has a good structure and a clear project for developing young players. We will work together to build a strong team that competes honorably and presents beautiful football worthy of the club's name and history.”
