Police Overcome Al-Karkh with a Double and Secure League Runner-Up

The Police Club achieved a deserved victory over its host Al-Karkh with a score of 2-0, in the match that brought them together on Thursday evening at Captain Sharar Haider Stadium, as part of the 37th round of the Iraq Stars League. The result granted the Qithara three important points that solidified their position in second place, and ended Al-Karkh's season comfortably in the middle of the table.

The match began with a clear balance between the two sides, as Al-Karkh tried to exploit the home ground and crowd factors to press early, while the Police relied on short passing and controlling the midfield. The field advantage gradually tilted in favor of the guest, who started to impose their rhythm as time went on.

In the 36th minute, Abdelmajid Bou Bakar succeeded in putting the Police ahead after an organized attack reached him inside the area. The goal gave the team the required comfort and forced Al-Karkh to leave their defensive zones in search of an equalizer, but without posing a real threat to the Qithara's goal until the end of the first half.

The second half saw scattered attempts from Al-Karkh to equalize, but the Police defense, led by their organized backline, prevented the hosts from reaching dangerous areas. The team had a good season considering the capabilities and managed to secure their stay early, but they failed to keep up with the Police in this encounter despite the desire to present a positive result in front of their fans.
