Al Karkh knock out Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya with a single goal in the league
The Adem Stadium witnessed a shocking and surprising result in the 13th round of the Iraq Stars League, where Al Karkh managed to snatch a valuable and important win against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya with a goal to nil, deepening the wounds of the Hawks and complicating their situation in the standings.
Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya entered the match as the clear favorite on paper, given the names of its players, their technical abilities, and its history compared to Al Karkh.
However, the green rectangle carried another story; Al Karkh entered the match with high determination and tactical discipline, exploiting the state of confusion and technical decline that Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya has been suffering from recently after their setback in Asia and poor domestic results, successfully imposing their style and taking the lead early.
The decisive moment of the match came in the 14th minute of the first half, when player Amir Fayyad succeeded in scoring the only goal of the match for Al Karkh, giving his team an early advantage and great confidence to handle the course of the game.
Despite Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's desperate attempts to come back and level the score throughout the remaining minutes, the match saw an extraordinary performance from Al Karkh's defenders and their goalkeeper, who stood like an impenetrable wall against all of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's attacks, nullifying every threat. This allowed the canaries to maintain a clean sheet and secure three valuable points, providing them with a lifeline and a huge morale boost in the league battle.
With this loss, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's tally remains at 13 points in 13th place, while Al Karkh have increased their total to 12 points, advancing to 16th place.
