Pogba: Manchester United Lost a Great Player with Rashford's Departure to Barcelona
Monday 21-07-2025
Paul Pogba, midfielder for Monaco, expressed his regret over Marcus Rashford's departure from Manchester United, noting that the English club has lost a great player amid the bad luck it has been experiencing lately.

Rashford arrived in Spain this Monday morning to undergo a medical examination with Barcelona, in preparation for joining the team on a season-long loan, with the Catalan club covering his entire salary, in addition to a clause granting them the right to buy the player permanently at the end of the season.

Rashford had previously been on loan at Aston Villa last January before returning to Manchester United, but he has fallen out of favor with coach Ruben Amorim. Rashford, who is 27 years old, is considered one of United's star players, having participated in 426 matches, scoring 138 goals and assisting another 77.

Pogba commented on Rashford's departure: "This is crazy, Manchester United retired Rashford's number, but I am certainly happy for him. Manchester United is losing a great player, and that is unfortunate for them."

Regarding his move to Barcelona, he said: "It's a great thing for Barcelona. Honestly, I don't even talk about United, because they have bought some new players, and the new coach wants to do what he likes, I believe."

On the United coach, he said: "It's not really his fault that he doesn't trust anyone; he has to win, and if he doesn't win, he will be sacked."
