Media figure Ahmed Shobir criticized those who are criticizing Zamalek for holding the team's camp in the New Administrative Capital.

Shobir said in radio statements: "Zamalek is camped in the New Administrative Capital and I saw people mocking it, why are you mocking?! Whether Zamalek travels abroad or not is a decision of the Board of Directors, not yours."

He continued: "Moreover, the New Administrative Capital has a wonderful sports city and it has the Olympic City of Egypt which has not yet been opened, I don’t know why, but it has everything and will be a pride for every Egyptian."

Shobir concluded: "Zamalek went there and played a friendly match with Orange Club and during this match, their star Ahmed Hossam suffered a tear in the cruciate ligament, which saddened me very much, but it is God's will and what He wills happens."
