Officially: Sunderland signs Shams El-Din Talabi from Club Brugge

The English club Sunderland announced on its official website the signing of young winger Shams El-Din Talabi, coming from Belgian Club Brugge, during the current summer transfer window.

Talabi, who is 20 years old, has signed a contract that extends for five years with Sunderland until 2030, in a deal whose financial value has not been disclosed. The player stood out last season in the Belgian Pro League, where he scored 7 goals and assisted 5 others in 44 matches, including 11 matches in the UEFA Champions League.

After signing the contracts, Talabi expressed his happiness at joining Sunderland, stating: "I am very excited about this step and grateful for the opportunity. The project here is ambitious, and the team is full of young talents, which motivated me. I know that Sunderland fans will support us, and I look forward to seeing them in the stadium."

For his part, sporting director Christian Speakman praised the deal, saying: "Talabi is a player with high potential and remarkable physical abilities, excelling in playing on the right wing and in various attacking positions. We are happy to have him join us and look forward to seeing him with the team in the new season."
