The Portuguese club Porto has officially announced the appointment of Italian Francesco Farioli as the new head coach of the team, succeeding Martin Anselmi, who was dismissed following the team's exit from the 2025 Club World Cup after a 4-4 draw with Egyptian Al Ahly in the third round of the group stage.

The club stated in an official statement that Farioli, who is 36 years old, has signed a contract that extends for two seasons until June 30, 2027, to lead the team during the upcoming phase.

Farioli recently left his position as coach of Ajax Amsterdam after losing the league title last season, where he managed the team in 54 matches, achieving 35 victories, 8 draws, and suffering 11 defeats.

Porto's contract with Farioli comes due to the Italian coach's offensive philosophy and strong personality on a technical level, along with his experience working with major teams and his ambition to achieve success with the team in the coming years.
