Porto President Closes the Door on Signing Lewandowski

Thursday 14-05-2026
André Villas-Boas, the president of the Portuguese club Porto, denied the reports linking the club with signing the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Villas-Boas said in a press statement reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano: "As you can imagine, it is financially impossible for us to even consider Lewandowski."

Lewandowski's contract with Barcelona ends at the end of the current season, amid increasing reports suggesting the possibility of his departure from the Catalan team this summer on a free transfer.

The Polish striker has been linked with moves to several clubs recently, most notably Juventus and Milan, along with interest from Saudi club Al Hilal in acquiring his services.
