Chelsea Closes the Deal with Maignan
Sunday 22-06-2025
Sky Sports reported that Chelsea has definitively decided not to sign French goalkeeper Mike Maignan during the summer transfer window.

The network clarified that the goalkeeper, who plays for AC Milan, was offered to Chelsea, but the London club withdrew from the deal before the opening of the first transfer window this summer, without making a formal offer to acquire him.

The report added that Chelsea's chances of signing a new goalkeeper this summer are currently very slim, especially with four goalkeepers in the team's roster: Robert Sanchez, Philip Jurgensen, Dorde Petrovic who is on loan to Strasbourg, and Mike Benders.

It is expected that the upcoming period will witness a restructuring in the goalkeeper position within Chelsea, as a decision is likely to be made to sell one of the goalkeepers permanently to reduce the number of available options in this position.
