Optimism at Real Madrid Regarding Rudiger's Participation
Thursday 19-06-2025
A sense of optimism prevails within Real Madrid regarding the possibility of German defender Antonio Rudiger participating in the group stage matches of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, according to the Spanish newspaper "AS".

According to the report, coach Xabi Alonso expects Rudiger to be ready to participate in one of the group stage matches, either against Mexican club Pachuca or Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, amid continuous improvement in the player's condition.

Rudiger continues to train with the team and appears close to regaining his match fitness, despite ongoing doubts about his physical fitness and match rhythm following his recent absence.

Rudiger underwent knee surgery after suffering a cartilage tear, an injury he had played through for a long time to compensate for defensive absences, especially after his teammate Eder Militao sustained a torn ACL.

The player decided to undergo surgery in coordination with the medical staff following the recent loss to Barcelona, aiming to ensure a full recovery before the start of the new season, despite being aware that his participation in the Club World Cup might be somewhat limited.

Real Madrid hopes that Rudiger will provide a strong addition to the defense as the team embarks on its journey in the tournament, which the royal club aims to win once again.
