A Spanish press report stated that there is a discrepancy in opinions between the management of Real Madrid and coach Xabi Alonso, just before the start of the new season.
The Spanish newspaper "Marca" mentioned that Alonso requested the club to sign a midfielder capable of controlling the midfield, but the club's management said "no".
The source added: "Real Madrid's management informed the Spanish coach that the club already has enough midfield players."
Former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti had also requested the club to sign a midfielder after the departure of Toni Kroos last summer, but the club rejected his request as well.
It is worth noting that Alonso decided to rely on Jude Bellingham as a midfielder in the FIFA Club World Cup.
