Details of Zamalek's Negotiations with 3 Players
Media figure Ahmed Shobair revealed Zamalek's negotiations with 3 players to join the white team during the summer transfer window.
Shobair stated in radio remarks: "Currently, my information indicates that there are negotiations with Egyptian players from Al Ahly, meaning what? They have played with Al Ahly before. So who are the prominent players that Zamalek might acquire from Al Ahly, and this is normal."
He added: "The players are Ahmed Abdelkader and Mohamed Sherif. So which one is easier to negotiate with? On paper, Sherif is easier because he is a free agent and has no problem; if he agrees, he will sign. However, Sherif said no, I am waiting and not in a hurry. His words were clear that his priorities lie with Al Ahly, and indeed Al Ahly has contacted him, but the matter stopped due to travel for the World Cup, and both parties are waiting for the tournament to finish, regarding Sherif."
He continued: "Zamalek really wants Ahmed Abdelkader; he is an important player, a dribbler, and a scorer. However, there is still time with Al Ahly regarding his contract, and it will be impossible to acquire him, except in one case, which is if Al Ahly decides to sell him. I don’t know if Al Ahly might sell him to Zamalek and whether we have reached that professional mentality or not; I have no idea."
Shobair added: "And Percy Tau has no problem, of course, because at the end of the day, he is a professional player, but his numbers are very high for Zamalek. He is also an important player, but his salary with Al Ahly or Qatar, or when he was in Europe, was very high. Also, the club does not want to acquire older players, so his chances might be the least with Zamalek, not because of his level, but due to finances and age."
