English club Blackburn Rovers and Belgian club Royal Antwerp have entered into a fierce competition to sign Saudi star Marwan Al-Sahafi, having submitted official offers to Al-Ittihad club in preparation for his acquisition during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to media reports, the future of Al-Sahafi's transfer is dependent on the results of the upcoming Al-Ittihad board elections, as the European offers will be discussed during the first meeting of the new board after the election of its members.

On another note, Luai Mashabi, the current president of Al-Ittihad, announced his intention not to continue leading the club, attributing this to his personal circumstances, despite the major achievements accomplished during his tenure, most notably winning the Roshan League and the King's Cup.

Al-Sahafi, for his part, has expressed clear enthusiasm for embarking on a new professional experience in Europe, especially after his previous stint in Belgium, where he played on loan with Beerschot and left a good impression there.

In the past season, Marwan Al-Sahafi participated in 28 matches across various competitions, scoring six goals and providing one assist, having played 19 matches in the league, six in relegation play-offs, and three matches in the Belgian Cup.
