Pellegrini: The Players Are Broken, and This Affected Us
Manuel Pellegrini, coach of the Betis team, appeared in press statements after losing the UEFA Europa Conference League final to Chelsea with a score of 4-1.
The coach said: "What happened in the second half? We played a wonderful first half; we scored a goal, and we had two additional chances, but in the second half we were affected by injuries."
He added: "The audience was amazing, during the match and even afterwards. What hurts us more is our inability to give them this title."
He continued: "We have qualified for the Europa League next season, but I must say that the injuries today affected us and caused us significant problems. Against a strong team like Chelsea, this will always hurt you."
He concluded: "How do the players feel? They are broken. We could not continue what we showed in the first half."
