
Arsenal Ladies Crowned Champions of the Women's Champions League Against Barcelona
The Arsenal Ladies team achieved a historic milestone by winning the Women's Champions League title in 2025, after defeating Barcelona 1-0 in the final match held at the José Alvalade Stadium in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon.
Swedish player Stina Blackstenius scored the only goal of the match in the 74th minute, after receiving a brilliant pass from her teammate Beth Mead, placing it into the net to secure her team the prestigious European title.
This victory marks Arsenal's first title in the Champions League under its new name, which has been in effect since the 2009/2010 season, and the second in its European history after previously winning the UEFA Women's Cup in 2007.
Arsenal also became the first English team to win the Women's Champions League under the modern title, while Barcelona failed to secure the title for the third consecutive season, despite having three previous titles in the competition.
