Abdul Wahid Al-Sayed: The Departure of Gomez Marks the Beginning of Problems
Saturday 24-05-2025
Abdul Wahid Al-Sayed, the former football director at Zamalek, confirmed that the departure of coach Jose Gomez from his position was the beginning of problems for the white team.

Al-Sayed stated during the program "Kalam Al-Nas" on MBC Masr: "The match against Steel Nbosch in the Confederation and the loss, as well as the African exit, broke me, and I requested to leave at that time, but the club management officials asked me to postpone the matter."

He continued that Jose Gomez's tenure at Zamalek was good and that his departure marked the beginning of problems for the team.

He emphasized that Imam Ashour has not reached the stature that Zizo has achieved at Zamalek and that Ashour's departure from the team was not as impactful as Zizo leaving the white castle.

He added: "Zizo has a great deal of hope from the Zamalek fans, and that is what upset the fans about him."
