Osasuna Revives the Issue of Inigo Martinez's Participation
Monday 19-05-2025
A Spanish news report stated that Osasuna has decided to resort to the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding the participation of Inigo Martinez, a Barcelona player, in the match between the two teams in the 27th round of La Liga.

Osasuna had filed a complaint against Inigo Martinez's participation, but the complaint was rejected by the Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Committee of the Spanish Football Federation.

If Osasuna's complaint is accepted, the Catalan team will be considered to have lost 3-0, noting that the match ended with Barcelona winning 3-0.

FIFA regulations prohibit any player who has withdrawn from the national team or was not called up from playing with his club within 5 days of his national team's last match during the break, thus Osasuna considered Inigo's participation in that match illegal.

It is worth mentioning that Barcelona clinched the title for the 28th time in its history, leading the league with 85 points, 4 points ahead of Real Madrid, with one match remaining in the season.
