Sunday 18-05-2025
The head coach of Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone, confirmed that his team has made significant progress this season thanks to the addition of five new players, noting that work will continue during the upcoming summer transfer period to enhance competitiveness and achieve better results.

Simeone said: "Five new players have joined this season, and there has been a clear change and improvement in the team's performance. We are determined to continue on this path to maintain and strengthen Atletico's position."

He added: "Angel Correa is still a player with us, despite the fluctuations that football experiences. He is a symbol of the club due to his commitment, dedication, and talent, and he has provided great services to Atletico over the past 14 years. I thank him for his efforts and outstanding performance."

Regarding Atletico's third place finish, Simeone said: "The third place reflects the team's progress, but it is not easy given the presence of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Last season we were in fourth place, we recognize our mistakes and are working to correct them, but fixing them is not easy."

Simeone expressed his excitement about participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, confirming: "We will enter the tournament with enthusiasm and a strong desire to achieve the best results. The competition will be tough, but we are ready for it."

In response to a question about the need for more players at Julian's level, Simeone clarified: "The growth of the club is remarkable, and our fan base is expanding globally. We do not need six players like Julian, but we need players who have a competitive spirit, and when players come to Atletico, it is known that they possess quality and professionalism."
