A Spanish press report revealed the latest developments regarding the future of Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, whose contract ends at the end of June.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Marca', an upcoming meeting between Luka Modric and Florentino Perez is set to determine the Croatian star's future.

The source added that Modric's idea is to renew his contract for an additional season, then play in the World Cup with Croatia, after which he will hang up his boots.

The newspaper pointed out that Modric does not mind accepting any new terms in his new contract with the royal club.

The Croatian star also communicated with Xabi Alonso before the match against Real Mallorca in the last round of La Liga to understand his plans and ideas.
