A Spanish newspaper report revealed on Saturday evening the latest update regarding the competition for the European Golden Shoe title this season 2024/2025.

The Spanish newspaper "Marca" mentioned that Victor Gyökeres, the Sporting Lisbon striker, strengthened his position at the top with a total of 38 goals (58.5 points), but he has no remaining matches this season in the Portuguese league, which concluded on Saturday evening.

The newspaper added that Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, and Kylian Mbappé, the Real Madrid star, are in second place with 28 goals each (56 points), but both players have two matches remaining this season in the English and Spanish leagues.

In third place is Harry Kane, the Bayern Munich star, with 26 goals (52 points), but he is out of the race following the end of the Bundesliga, while Robert Lewandowski is in fourth place with 25 goals (50 points) and has two matches left.

Mohamed Salah and Mbappé will need to score two or more goals in their next two matches to win the European Golden Shoe award this season.

It is worth noting that the scoring coefficient in the top five leagues is two points for each goal, while in lower-ranked leagues, a goal is calculated at 1.5 points.
